Counseling For Engineering Common Entrance Test Postponed By Another Week

The Counseling for undergraduate engineering admission has been postponed by a week and now it’s scheduled from 7th July to 14th July. The academic sessions for undergraduate courses which were going to commence in September will now start from the first week of October. The counseling for medical & dental courses is also expected to get delayed. The COMED-K counseling for engineering seats will get delayed too. As per the AICTE, the delay has occurred due to some technical issues. AICTE has dropped the top 7 colleges from the list because their approvals were not updated in the final data including People’s Education Society Institute of Technology (PESIT), MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), BMS College of Engineering and RV College of Engineering (RVCE). Mr. Aravind Limbavali, Cabinet Minister for Higher Education, Government of Karnataka said, “We can start counseling on July 7 as per the earlier announcement, but if we do that, the meritorious students would not get seats in these top colleges. We don’t want to create trouble for students.”These colleges appealed to include their seats in the matrix for counseling.Aravind Limbavali said, “We have requested the AICTE to at least permit us to use last year’s seat matrix to begin the counseling as per schedule.”
