LLB graduates will now have to clear an examination conducted by the Bar Council of India (BCI) to be eligible for enrolling themselves as advocates. Last week, the Karnataka State Bar Council of India received a communication from BCI to implement this new rule with immediate effect. According to BCI announcement, the qualifying examination for aspiring Law graduates is scheduled to be held on December 5, 2010, and the result for the same is expected to be declared in January 2011. So, the fresh graduates will have to wait for at least another few months before they step out as advocates.
