Grading System In Bangalore University For Internal Assessment Gets A Green Signal

Bangalore University is planning to adopt a grading system for internal assessments (IA). Students can now take a sigh of relief as this new grading system is going to replace the usual marking system. The grades introduced by the university - A,B, C, D, E and F - are not going to affect the performance of its students. One official of the university said, “In the existing system IA carries 10 marks. The allotment of marks is mainly based on a student’s classroom behaviour, attendance and general questions related to particular subject.” A senior faculty from KLE College stated, “There have been several cases where male teachers harassed female students, expecting favours from the latter to allot IA marks. With the grading system, no teacher can cheat students or harass them.”
