New VC Intends To Make JNU One Of The Top Universities In The World

Mr. Sudhir Kumar Sopory has taken over as the new vice-chancellor of Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU) recently with an intention to make it one of the top universities in the world. He said that knowledge-generation and thrust on research will be two of his key focus areas. Inter-disciplinary studies, transparency in administrative policies, rewarding good teachers, improving ways of communication with students to encourage them to attend classes, fundraising and providing equal opportunity to gender and diversity will be other things that he will focus upon.
