Tamil Nadu has reported a marginal fall in the number of admissions in technical courses— down from 112,000 last year to 104,000 in 2011 — even though the number of seats on offer has gone up by nearly 30,000. This is an evidence that students have become choosy and they are looking for institutions and courses offering better placements and facilities. The quality of Faculty and infrastructure are also among the many reasons causing this drop out.
